Book Review: If I Plug My Ears, God Can’t Tell Me What to Do by Jessie Clemence

If I Plug My EarsI feel like all I’ve really done lately is book reviews, but that’s ok! I’ve read some really great ones lately! (A huge thanks to Netgalley for allowing me the chance to read and review this one!)

The cover and title of this book really called to me, as a person who has spent so much time avoiding that voice telling me what to do. Thinking if I just ignored Him, He would ask someone else. So I was ready to settle down on a rainy weekend and enjoy this one!

One thing I really appreciated? This book not only talks about how important it is to follow God’s instructions, but it talks about HOW to hear that voice! (Something that took me a long time to figure out.)

I loved Jessie’s writing, her candid nature really made this book easy to relate to. It’s definitely one that I will be recommending and sharing with friends who are new in their walk with Christ!

One thing I really appreciated was the way she brought up both Bible stories with strange requests from God, but also contemporary, modern day stories of herself and her friends. It made me see how some of the things he’s telling me aren’t as “out there” as I had thought!

Honestly, if you’re new to hearing that voice? Or just want another take on it? This book is definitely for you!
